Michael was around many musicians as a child. He spent countless hours with his grandfather, Michael "Mickey" Nold, who was an incredible musician and a band- leader for the Canadian Naval Parade and Concert Band.

Lieutenant Nold was the bandmaster for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, and graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Michael Nold mastered both the clarinet and piano and played with legendary musicians such as Bing Crosby, Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich, Benny Goodman and Tommy Dorsey; just to name a few.

Michael's grandmother, Evelyn Muriel Nold played piano with Country Legend Hank Snow.

With the strong influence of his grandfather, Michael John became enthralled with music and turned out to be a natural performer. When he was five years old, he created his first drum set out of buckets that were used to feed the horses on the family farm. He played on them for hours while listening to and singing along with great artists like: Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Gene Pitney, Tom Jones, Englebert Humperdinck and the Beatles.

A couple of years later, when Michael proved he was not going to give the drums up so easily, his grandfather bought him his first Ludwig snare to learn his rudiments on. After a few years of playing on the snare, Michael John graduated to a Westbury drum set and he would play for hours every day with recordings from bands such as The Who, Led Zeppelin, Sha Na Na, Bob Seager and Cheap Trick. He began playing for school dances and at the age of twelve, formed his first band, and was out performing at bars and hotels with written permission from his mother at age thirteen.

Michael formed, sang lead and played the drums in over twenty-six bands during the period of 1984-2008. Some of these bands were The Last Call, The Ralph Carlson Band, Caught In The Act, Rockin' Mic, The Time Machines, Hickory & The Reds, The Miller Brothers, Jimmy Who, Crisis Kings and Winchester 44. During this time, Michael's bands were in demand in bars, clubs, hotels, restaurants and resorts throughout Ontario and Quebec.

The CD "A New Beginning" was created over the course of a 2 year period in the studio of Four Score Productions, while Michael was attending college in pursuit of his RN diploma. Michael John wrote 9 songs for this project with the invaluable guidance of Terry "T.K" King, owner of the studio and member of The Staccatos, CJOH All Star Bear Band, The Cooper Brothers and The Five Man Electrical Band. Michael also had the help from Mr. Richard "Dick" Cooper, a well renowned songwriter who co-wrote the verses to one of Michael's country songs.

Terry King recognized the tremendous potential in Michael John as a singer/songwriter. So while battling lung cancer, "T.K"spent countless hours in the studio working on Michael John's project. "T.K" enlisted the professional expertise of top-notch recording engineers and studio musicians such as John Cybanski, Richard Cooper, Ross McRae, Jon Park-Wheeler, Suzie Vinnick, Dave Kalil, Howard Sonnenberg, Benoit Lortie and Ed Bimm to ensure the highest quality of the CD. "T.K" also decided to play Marss slide guitar and acoustic guitar on the project between cancer treatments and surgery.

Michael's mother Michelle believed in his abilities and was behind him as manager and costume designer. She had incredible talent herself as a designer of clothing and made Michael's first four Elvis costumes and many of his stage outfits.

Unfortunately Michelle, Michael's mother/manager, and Terry King, Michael's mentor, are no longer with us and are very sadly missed.

Though Michael had been impersonating artists like: Roy Orbison, Elvis and Tom Jones for many years, he entered and won his first of many Elvis impersonator competitions in 1994 after a friend's suggestion. He continued to win consecutive competitions until 1998 when he decided to put more of his time and his energy into the production of his own shows.

The show he was producing and performing had him open with a mixture of his original music and covers from other artists while singing with an orchestra he formed, based in Ottawa Ontario.

In 1999, Michael moved to Missouri to pursue his career as a Registered Nurse, expand his entertainment contacts, and to perform at larger venues. It was during Michael's stay in the United States that he formed 2 more orchestras. Then after moving back to Canada in 2002, he formed another orchestra in Toronto Ontario. Now in 2008 The Hound Dogs from Bellevile/Kingston area have invited Michael to become their new pro Elvis Tribute Artist.

In summer of 2007 Michael and his fiancee Angela have moved to the Ottawa Valley area to be closer to their family They have also taken over the family hobby farm named "Sea And Air Farm". The Ottawa members of The Cooper Brothers and The Five Man Electrical Band are all happy Michael and Angela moved home
